Our events consist of the same high quality and love that we put into our handpicked smallBIG Boxes! COVID-19 precautions are always a priority and masks are recommended at all ESL Events.

Recognizing women and/or minority-owned businesses serving the Greater Akron area
Overview
Akron has such a vibrant and impactful small business and entrepreneurial community. These Akronites not only own businesses, but they pour back into the community and residents in meaningful ways by providing employment opportunities, economic development, and wealth equity. Eat Speak Love was born from love for women or minority-owned small businesses and now we as a community have the opportunity to recognize the amazing individuals and businesses that add to the diversity and creativity that is local small business!
Event Purpose
Recognize four women or minority-owned businesses that have made an impact on the community
Highlight the talent and passion that drives these businesses and increase their visibility
Awards & Specifications
Start-Up Star
Recognizes a business between 1 and 2 years old that exists within or serves the Greater Akron area
Notable Non-Profit
Recognizes a 501(c)3 that has existed more than 3 years and serves the Greater Akron area
Chief Culinary Master
Recognizes a small food business (chef or caterer) that has existed for more than 3 years and serves the Greater Akron area
Entrepreneur Legacy
Recognizes a local business that has existed for more than 7 years and makes a notable contribution to the Greater Akron area
All businesses must be designated as women and/or minority-owned in structure. The business or individuals must directly serve/exist in the Greater Akron Area. National brands/franchises are not eligible for nomination. Nominations must be received by deadline to be considered.
Selection Process
Once all nominations have been received, a group of at least four community members will review and determine award recipients. Committee members must not have any affiliation with the nominees or relation. Winners will be notified and announced two weeks prior to the event date.
